Light colours might seem impossible to wear during the rains but something above-the-knee like this mint pinafore is perfect for cheering you up from the gloomy weather. Team it up with your Crisp White Shirt and these grey pointy toe heels from Melissa. Perfect for work don’t you think? Since it is work, you can wear simple studded earrings such as these drop diamond ones and a classic watch tucked under your shirt. To protect yourself from the rain keep this beautiful umbrella handy and you are good to go. Swap your usual umbrella for this polka dotted, juicy, Water Mellon one. The print is such a cheerful one and the colours red, white and black will pretty much work with everything in your wardrobe.

Over the past one and half years (since we launched the blog) we have explored a lot of trends and hope to cover all of them some day. However, we can’t believe it has taken us this long to show you a colour blocking look with a Crisp White Shirt. We started by giving Sujala an orange skort and teamed it up with our classic white shirt. We then clashed the orange with a purple jacket.

If colour blocking is a big mystery to you then here’s a quick guide – Start with clashing only two colours. To begin with choose a neutral colour and mix with brights. Or pick something as simple as navy and you can mix it with a yellow, green, red, purple or even an orange.  If you are still confused, then look at the colour chart and pick colours that are on the opposite sides as they are meant to be complimentary.

You can use blacks and whites as the base and mix it with brights, allowing the colours to pop. Colour blocking is also a great way to emphasize your best features. Simply choose the brighter colours to accentuate the best parts of your body and the dark to those that you would like to give a slimming effect.

As the skort and jacket were going into a sporty territory we decided to give her neutral coloured metallic sneakers and kept accessories to a minimum with layered necklaces, a sporty watch and aviators.

Sujala is one heck of a fancy stylist at Femina India :) and in her spare time enjoys giving her male kitty an identity crisis..Having named the little thing ‘Chloe’ from not knowing he was male to begin with..tehehehe. <3
