The weather’s been behaving the last few days and since it is still nice and chilly out as well as sunny, we’re using it to our advantage and pulling out the big guns and wearing ‘ white culottes’. We’ve always talked about our bias toward layering clothes and how much we miss having that kind of weather here, so with every chance that we get, we throw on a layer. Statement Tees have been doing the rounds lately, and honestly what’s not to love about them? you’re literally wearing your attitude for everyone to see and understand, even before they get to speak to you.

So this is a time like none other to invest in a couple of basic slogan tees for a nice little change. We chose grey since it is pretty reminiscent of the gloomy weather, but also seems to offset the cream/white on the culottes seamlessly. Bottle green is easily one of our favorite Autumn shades, wear your knits around your waist instead since, it is still too warm to be worn- this gives your look a laid back vibe. Mix silver and gold jewellery to accessorize, why not try and mix the two and enjoy an unexpected fun outcome ;). Finish out the look, with pretty dual tone jelly sandals from Melissa, that add the perfect splash of colour to your look.

With the monsoons in full swing we all know how windy it gets and by the time you leave your house to the cab/rick you can be drenched head to toe. So it is time to invest in not just a cool umbrella but also a chic raincoat. This is where, talented designer Sonya Vajifdar comes in. You can take your pick from solid colours to sheer ponchos and macs. We chose this grey one with metallic detailing for Nidhi since the colour goes seamlessly with just about everything in your wardrobe and is easy to mix and match.

It’s better to wear skirts and dresses during this season to avoid wet trousers and soaked jeans. So we put Nidhi in a trysil pleated skirt and a fitted blouse with of course the white shirt in. Cinch in the waist with a slim belt to give definition to your waist. Throw on a classic men’s style watch as an accessory. Nidhi wears her glasses well so we let it be part of her look. You can of course skip it. Pair it with an oversized tote, ensure it is waterproof to last you through the season and our favourite shoes for the rains: Melissa has something for every kind of look and this time we chose these red pumps, absolutely perfect for a first date kind of situation!

Nidhi used to work in Fashion Retail but is now a freelance business analyst who also runs her own fashion blog called “The Chic Armoire
