Anushka’s obsession with arm candy is pretty evident and never steps out a day in her life without it and a bunch of family heirlooms. Her box of jewellery feels like we peeked into Pandora’s very own. She is soft spoken and gracious and currently works at one of the top PR firms in Mumbai, handling brands like Jimmy Choo, Etro and more. Her style is classic and wearable for that every day look.
Here’s what ‘The Crisp White Shirt’ finds out about The Pocket Stylist:
1) Tell us about your blog. What is it called and what is it about?
My blog is called ‘The Pocket Stylist’ and it is an outlet to creatively express myself. I put together a few looks, some quirky lines and put it up on Facebook, so I would have something other than emails to create. I currently work at a PR firm where I send a lot of emails and it isn’t the most creative thing to do. And that’s the way ‘The Pocket Stylist‘ came into being.
2) Your most cherished heirloom?
My ring. My mum’s cousin gave it to me when I was ten. I remember, I used to have a lot of nightmares and I would wear that ring thinking’ I wouldn’t have them anymore. And now I can’t take it off because; I feel like something bad will happen, if I do . So, I have to have it on at all times.
Also, my necklace. The story behind it is – when I was a baby, my mum took me to a couple of auditions like Cerelac and Nivea and I got into one or two of them and everytime they paid me for those print ads, she’d save up that money and eventually made a little solitaire out of it, put it on a chain and gave it to me on my 18th birthday.
3) What would we find in your handbag at all times?
My little pouch with my make up, which contains a compact, blush, lip balm from Nivea, which I cannot do without, my sunglasses – 2 pairs and my wallet. That’s about it. Oh and also my diary – a tiny little notebook where I make notes of whatever comes to my mind related to ‘The Pocket Stylist’ mostly. Sometimes, I reach places earlier than I am supposed to, so, I sit and put down stuff in it.
4) Tell us about your tattoo?
I have had it since I was 18. I always wanted a tattoo and tried to convince my mum but, she was against it, until I could pay for it myself. Then she couldn’t say no! I saw Rihanna’s tattoo with the stars on the back of her neck. I loved it and I wanted to get it! But, on a place that wasn’t visible to me at all times because, then I would get bored of it. So it’s on my shoulder.
5) Where do you find inspiration from for ‘The Pocket Stylist’?
I look at a lot of websites. Fashionista, for the way they write. I love, love, love how they write. It’s quirky, it’s sarcastic and it is perfect! So I have to read that everyday. I read a lot of gossip blogs like ‘Perez Hilton‘ for instance.
6) Speaking of blogs, name a few of your favorite ones?
Internationally, I like ‘Song of Style‘ and her sister ‘Dani Song‘ is amazing too! I always wanted to be a hairstylist when I was younger and she is a hairstylist plus she does fashion so I like them. I also love Rumi Neely from ‘Fashion Toast’ and ‘Style by Kling’.
Amongst the Indian ones,…hmmm..I like them, I don’t love them. But then again I am an Indian blogger, so I am not going to say anything.
Nush loves layering on ‘the arm candy’ and wears a lot of jewellery; so we instantly knew that, if her look was going to be so heavily accessorized we were going to have to keep the style more laid back and comfortable. A gorgeous pair of wedged shoes thrown against a grainy ripped pair of ‘boyfriend jeans’ really adds an exceptional level of sophistication. Just make sure your belt isn’t mismatched against your shoes and bag, that’s why we stayed within the tan colour family. She looks ready to head to a work meeting and also to a relaxed Sunday brunch.
We hope a lot more of you embrace this perfectly comfy look, and yes you can also wear this look on dates Enjoy, Like, Share and above all make sure to TRY this look out!!
